Meditation

(Tom Kozlowski)
Who can live between two fires caught between our hearts' desires

Today I’m hot tomorrow cold first I cringe then I’m bold

The bird that sings despite the storm lives inside the heart that’s torn

Can this be the hand of God I wrestled with all night long

Face to face he held me down by morning’s light I held my ground

He bruised my heel took my sight blinded by the light

Fragile vessel made of dust holds the heart that longs to trust

Flesh and blood surrounds the bone what spirit makes us stand alone

Simple answers both extremes the truth lies somewhere in between

Can this be the hand of God I wrestled with all night long

Face to face he held me down by morning’s light I held my ground

He bruised my heel took my sight blinded by the light
